Freelandopps

The next program I found out through talkgold.com was a program called
www.freelandopps.net (Look it up in talkgold via search function) It promised 90% profit in 28 days from your investment. They had a pretty website that looked “secure”, a chat room, internal forum, daily newsletter. Again this looked very enticing. Reading the FAQ's I got an idea of how they made there money. Basically they “know” powerful people called the grandfather group made up of bank managers, governors, and powerful politicians. This sounded reasonable and I didn't’t see why powerful people can’t make that kind of money.
Again I tested the water with a small spend for 90% profit. I was paid after the 28 days. I threw it back in and waited another 28 days, guess what, I was paid again to my e-gold account. This time I put $500 in. I left it there for another 5 months until it grew to over $12,000. I thought I made it and I was going to be sorted for life. What made me feel more confident about this program than foreign-fund was that fact that regularly the admin named Xavier would hold meetings via the chat using voice chat so we could actually hear his voice. This made everyone investor feel “comfortable” knowing you can hear someone’s voice and hear him talk about the program so confidently. Looking back, that is one of the best scamming techniques. To induce fear, win their hearts and mind. If you can do that then you’re a perfect salesman. Xavier was a genius in doing so.

It was time for him to make a run for all the money he collected so he devised a plan called the private program to stop new member signing up. Basically minimum position to buy in by August 2004 was $10,000 to receive 110 % profit every month.
Investors started signing up crazily. Freelandopps were paying for 8 months straight people were actually getting paid. If I was getting paid surely others were most likely as well. I wanted in on this private program as it would have been the solution to all my financial problems.

So now it was near the end of August and all of a sudden Xavier said that some of the e-gold accounts have been hacked by a hacker and quite abit of money was taken. So his decision was to limit the amount withdraws per week.
Only $1000 max to be withdrawn once per week. His excuse was so that he can have time to build up the loss funds. He did have a “sympathetic reason “for allowing that withdrawal and that was because he didn't’t want people to be without money as money feeds mouths and puts food on the table etc. He basically wanted to come across as a thoughtful and caring guy that does actually want to help people. I believed him and so did many others. There was no reason to doubt his motives. I made my withdrawal for my principle amount only, which was $500. That amount was paid to my e-gold account and the remaining left in my freelandopps account was just over $11,000 which would have been enough to participate in the private plan. More excuses were given, this time

“Governments have seized a server that was once used by us, although they haven’t taken our current servers, we want to protect the program so therefore we have to shut down the site to restructure the program “

What did it matter to me ? I didn't’t lose no money as I took out my principle, but I
thought I’d stick around to see what happens and if there was a private program that would make me rich. I had nothing to lose. More excuses that it’ll take 6 months to restructure and that the private program will begin in March / April 2005. As the site was down all we had to do was wait, member made a forum for us to use. We waited and waited, March / April came and nothing. I writ the program off. It was just Xavier’s stalling tactic to get away with all our hard earned money. I didn't’t get burnt that much but many others did because they threw their life savings in.

You’ll be less hurt when and if things go falling down.

Although freelandopps was one of my biggest HYIP scams ever, Xavier did teach me a thing or too about protecting one self, meaning being anonymous to the government and to others. He taught us techniques on how to preserve and protect our wealth and internet activities, how to legally avoid tax etc.
